Hilton LivSmart

Thank you for considering me for this project.

As a commercial and interiors photographer based in Nashville, I partner with high end brands globally to make imagery that is authentic, beautiful and speaks to their message clearly with ease.

At the heart of my work, I want it to feel real and connecting. The little voice inside that recognizes a similar feeling, an expression or a daily ritual - “I see myself in this” — and specifically for Hilton LivSmart, “This looks like my everyday. I could stay there and feel warm and comforted, like at home.” My hope is that you see that in my work and in my vision for this campaign.

KEY OBJECTIVES

Showcase the approachable and beautiful experience of a stay at Hilton LivSmart.

APPROACH — OUR CONCEPT

Treasure your everyday routine, even away from home.

Our main objective in this lifestyle campaign is to make imagery that shows our targeted demographic fully living their lives in these warm and beautiful spaces. Everyday tasks like early morning work outs, breakfast before work, midday grocery runs, coming home from the office to put on sweats as the sun goes down and finally eating GrubHub on the couch — these are the familiar everyday joys that you can find in any Hilton LivSmart stay.

Through direct compositions and warm, clean lighting, we plan to tell the story of a full day through our cast in morning, afternoon and evening scenes in these spaces. From more direct, early morning light streaming in from windows illuminating the sun just rising flows into a soft, midday gentle fill in the afternoon. Evening will bring more of a twilight, dusky glow from interior lamps inside the suite — warm, and inviting, cozy and approachable.

Details and amenities of the suite will be highlighted by our cast as they —

  • Head to the gym in workout clothes.

  • Make coffee or toast before work.

  • Put laundry away in the closet.

  • Place a haul of groceries into a full size fridge.

  • Watch TV at night from the bed while their partner does some final late night work on their laptop at the table nearby.

  • Small things like loading the dishwasher or heating up a takeout order in the microwave will remind our audience that these stays really can feel like home.

In capturing a day in the lives of our cast, we will show the approachability, consistency and beauty of a Hilton LivSmart stay.

Visual Approach

01 Lighting

We will emulate natural light by lighting above and through the staging set windows and will reset (3) times for morning sun to midday fill and evening coziness. We strive to illuminate natural skin tones in the cast, highlighting their ethnicities and various ages to speak to Hilton LivSmart’s target audience.

02 Composition

Images will be in simple yet striking compositions, letting the space and the cast shine as the focus.

03 Mood: Joyful & Approachable

To create the right feel, the suite will be brightly lit and warm with touches of saturation in props (possibly vases, flowers, mugs, other home accessories) to be scattered throughout. Poses and facial expressions from the cast will be as natural as possible, feeling unstaged and authentic as they interact with various everyday tasks in the Hilton LivSmart suites.

TALENT

Meet the Cast

Our cast is made up of three individuals and one couple. Comfort and candidness here is key, with natural and warm expressions across the board. No forced, “too happy/stock-photography” smiles, here.

Julia

HISPANIC FEMALE, MID-30s;
VISITING FAMILY & FRIENDS

Julia works in the medical field. She alludes to a gym off-premises by showing her in workout clothes heading out the door in the morning, and then back home in scrubs as she makes toast before her shift. At night she wears comfortable sweats as she eats GrubHub on the couch (and later works on her laptop across from Derrick, who watches TV).

Derreck

BLACK FEMALE, MID-30s;
TRAVELING FOR WORK & PLAY

Derrek shows us the side of the individual who would be in the suite for an extended corporate work trip — wardrobe for him is business attire as he makes his Keruig coffee in the morning and then more cozy, comfortable clothes as he loads the dishwasher later in the day.

Ryan

WHITE MALE, MID-30s;
VISITING FAMILY & FRIENDS

Ryan is our single male whose wardrobe is casual and everyday as he puts away groceries and laundry in the suite — possibly showing what a Saturday at Hilton LivSmart can look like (just like home).

LOCATION

Hilton LivSmart Staging — Nashville, Tenn.

A session with a tech scout before the shoot will help us understand how to light and navigate the suite before shoot day, and will let us be as efficient as possible to accomplish all the ten planned shots, and beyond.
